Role: SAP BTP Technology Architect / Platform Architect – Senior

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced SAP BTP Technology Architect / Platform Architect to design, govern, and evolve enterprise-grade technology architectures on the SAP Business Technology Platform. This is a senior technology-focused role with a strong emphasis on platform architecture, administration, governance, security, operations, and scalable integration patterns — not a module consulting role. In this role, you will define and guide SAP BTP platform architecture for complex global environments, support the integration and extension of SAP S/4HANA and other SAP applications from a technology perspective, and help establish reliable, secure, and future-ready BTP landscapes for worldwide use. • Shape platform governance, security, connectivity, identity, operations, and lifecycle management concepts for SAP BTP.
• Contribute to clean-core and side-by-side extensibility strategies from a technology and platform architecture perspective.
• Collaborate with global teams on high-impact SAP transformation and platform standardization initiatives.
• Contribute to internal enablement, architecture standards, technical documentation, and the further development of our SAP BTP technology portfolio.

Your Role in the Team

• Design innovative, scalable, secure, and future-proof technology architecture on the SAP Business Technology Platform, with a focus on platform setup, administration, governance, operations, and technical enablement.
• Define and evolve SAP BTP account models, subaccount structures, entitlement concepts, connectivity patterns, security models, identity integration, role concepts, and operational standards.
• Advise project teams and technical stakeholders on extending and integrating SAP S/4HANA and other SAP applications using side-by-side extensibility and clean-core principles from a technology architecture perspective.
• Define, design, and support end-to-end integration scenarios across global cloud and hybrid system landscapes using SAP Integration Suite, SAP Event Mesh, API Management, and connectivity services.
• Provide technical leadership in projects and take responsibility for platform architecture decisions, technology selection, governance principles, and alignment with SAP best practices and security standards.
• Create proof of concepts, technical prototypes, architecture documentation, operational guidelines, and decision papers to support well-founded technology and platform design choices.
• Actively contributes to the development of our SAP BTP technology portfolio through knowledge sharing, internal training, mentoring, and technical thought leadership within the SAP community.

What We Expect from You

Qualifications and Expertise

• Deep understanding of modern cloud architectures, SAP BTP platform services, integration patterns, administration concepts, and SAP extensibility principles.
• Strong technology architecture mindset with the ability to translate enterprise requirements into sustainable, secure, and scalable platform designs.
• Solid knowledge of SAP BTP governance, security, identity and access management, connectivity, lifecycle management, monitoring, and operational concepts.
• Excellent analytical thinking and the ability to structure complex technical topics clearly.
• Strong communication skills and confidence in working with stakeholders across technical, functional, operations, security, and management levels.
• Passion for new technologies, continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and building reusable architecture and platform standards.

Professional Experience 

• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in the SAP BTP environment, preferably with a strong focus on technology architecture, administration, platform operations, integration,
• and governance.
• Several years of experience in designing, implementing, or governing SAP BTP technology architectures.
• Relevant architecture experience in global SAP installations or worldwide enterprise system landscapes, including distributed teams, multi-country rollouts, or globally
• standardized platform concepts.
• Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP integration scenarios, and hybrid SAP system landscapes from a technology and platform perspective.
• Practical experience with cloud-native application, extension, connectivity, security, and operations concepts on SAP BTP.
• Experience in technical leadership roles, such as SAP BTP technology architect, platform architect, integration architect, cloud architect, SAP Basis/cloud lead, or technical project lead.
• Ability to guide technical teams, review architecture designs, define standards, and ensure adherence to governance, security, operational, and architecture principles.
